Honestly, if you weren’t ready for summer just yet you will want to back out of this post right now.Press Sample
Come the month of May I become a little impatient for summer to actually arrive. Soon I’ll be complaining that my makeup is melting off my face, but for now I’m choosing to revel in what I love about summertime – those carefree days, poolside lounging and that fun summer attitude that anything can happen whenever and wherever if you only have your floppy hat in one hand and bottle of SPF in the other. Oh and these to-die-for summer beach-babe metallics having a party on your flip flops from Zoya of course!
“The beach, the sand, and Zoya Paradise Sun on my hands” – (quote adapted to fit the occasion.)
Zoya’s Summer 2015 collection is large with six creams and six metallics. Today we’re taking a look at the party side of the collection called Paradise Sun which is a collection of tropical brights in Zoya’s stunning metallic formula. Delivering a chrome-like sheen with stunning micro metallic flecks this collection is putting my nails in the summer spotlight.
If creams are more up your ally hold tight friend, because I’m working on those beauties right now! For now, let’s take a look at all that sparkles for summer from the Zoya Paradise Sun Summer 2015 Collection:
Zoya Paradise Sun Summer 2015 Collection includes 6 metallics.
Closeup + Swatches
Zoya Selene is described as: “a true teal with a micronized metallic pearl finish. A unique shade with an aqua fleck that resembles deeper layers of ocean water.”
Selene has an excellent consistency without being too thick or thin and I was very surprised to get full coverage with just one coat on my nails! While in the bottle it looked like it leaned toward the teal spectrum but once on my nails it reminds me of a shimmery jungle or jewel-toned green. The depth is gorgeous!
Zoya Isa is described as a “deep blue-based purple with a micronized metallic pearl finish and an aqua flash that embodies the beauty of exotic island flowers!”
The formula was a little thin so I had to take care I didn’t over load the brush with this one. Of all of the purple shades I own don’t feel like blue-based purples look the best on my skintone, but if you love them then this one is definitely a beauty! The color is deep but not too deep and the sparkle is beautiful.
Zoya Genesis is described as a “crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish – designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust!”
I was extremely excited about Genesis because I actually do not own a white Zoya polish and with the added sparkle it made me giddy! I actually applied Genesis three times to take swatch shots because the consistency is a little different than the others in this set. Maybe it is due to the color that it reminds me of putting glue on my fingernails or it could be the shimmer flecks in the polish but I felt like it dried as I was applying and it was slightly too thin. In two coats it wasn’t quite fully opaque so if I were to wear it out and about next time I would shoot for three very thin coats to achieve opacity and for a better application experience.
Zoya Mae is described as a “warm magenta pink with a micronized metallic pearl finish, reminiscent of vibrant Mediterranean flowers.”
I don’t remember the last time I fell in love with hot as heck pink metallic polish and with as much as I love Mae she will probably be the only one for me! The metallic sheen is a beauty and the shade of pink is definitely flattering, especially for summer. The formula was also beautiful – easy to work with and opaque with two coats.
Zoya Aphrodite is described as a “vibrant summer red with a micronized pearl metallic finish and multi-hued flash that brings it to life. Think of fresh and juicy tropical fruit!”
I can’t get enough of juicy orange-red shades for summer and this one is a beauty! While at first I thought she reminded me of Zoya Amy, this one definitely leans more red-orange than orange-red so she is unique! The formula was easy to work with but I felt like I needed one thin coat followed by one thick coat to achieve almost full opacity.
Zoya Oceane is described as a “true turquoise with a micronized metallic pearl finish that reflects the clearest blue ocean waters!”
A good ocean blue is a necessity for summertime and this blue is dreamy! My second favorite of this collection Oceane sparkles and makes me feel mermaid-y in every way. The formula was beautiful and I achieved full opacity with two coats.
Overall the Zoya Paradise Sun Collection for Summer 2015 is a sparkling treat for nails on the top or peeking out from under my maxi dresses on the bottom. Some of the consistencies take some getting used to, but the color is beautiful indeed. My favorites are Mae, and Oceane and I want to try Genesis on my toes next for a sparkly pop of white!
