THE BURNING QUESTION right now: How much NAKED do I really need?  In today’s swatchME! post I am sharing swatches of all of the NAKED palettes by Urban Decay – NAKED Original, NAKED2, NAKED3 and the NAKED Basics Palette as well!  Everyone seems to have their favorite among all of the NAKED palettes, while others love them all (I tend to be the latter!).  Be sure to let me know what you think of each of these palettes and which one is your favorite!

NAKED Original tends to be known as a “warm neutral” palette and is quite golden and bronzed, but it does have a sparkly black and gunmetal shade as well.

Urban-Decay-Naked-2-Swatches

NAKED 2 is known as a “cooler neutrals” palette with metallic shades that I think flatter warm or cool skintones, as well as shades that lean more toward the taupe side.  This palette contains a matte black which is nice to use as a liner or to smoke out any look!

Urban-Decay-Naked-3-Swatches

NAKED 3 is the latest release, and is known as a “rose-hued neutral” containing distinctive rosey and taupe shades.  The darkest shade in this palette is a deep black-red with a hint of rose glitter flecks which works surprisingly well as both a liner and to smoke out the outer corner. NAKED Basics is a palette of nearly all matte shades that coordinates with any of the NAKED palettes.  The matte black, Crave, is my favorite black of all three black shades in these palettes!

I FIND each of the NAKED palettes differ in their own way.  Namely the over all tones of each palette differs from one another, and although a couple shades may seem similar from swatches, they have different finishes – a few are a little on the chunky-glittery side, requiring a little extra work, while others are solid-metallic smooth, some satin, and others are soft and matte – but all in all, they are all very high quality, easy to blend and work with – all qualities I love about Urban Decay eye shadows!

If you are very undecided, I do not think you can go wrong with the original NAKED palette, but I’m going to have to confuse you a little and confess that as I’ve been playing with the NAKED 3 over the past week I have to say that I really love how dark and smokey it can be, and the hint of rose is very beautiful – it is unlike any palette I own!

What do you think of each of Urban Decay’s NAKED Palettes?  Do you have a favorite?
