Sexy Summer Hair Products

To me, summer hair is easy-going and carefree, but between the sun, chlorine, and pulling it back off of my neck in this sweltering heat, my hair does ask for a little TLC in return.  I’ve pulled together some products I think are perfect not only to pamper and protect hair during the summer, but products that make it easier to manage.  From an amazing sea-salt spray to a deep repair mask, here are my top product picks for Sexy Summer Hair this year!

Philip-B-Sea-Salt-SprayPhilip B. Maui Wowie Beach Mist has got to be my favorite product of the summer.  While most sea salt sprays leave my hair feeling like a crispy-fried mess, Maui Wowie keeps my tresses soft, voluminous and holds them in place all at the same time.  This this product made it into my Friday Faves (so you know I love it!) not only for how it performs, but the scent is amazing too!  $22 (USD), 5.07 fl oz / 150ml.

Organix-Moroccan-Surf-PasteOrganix Moroccan Surf Paste is a texturizing matte finish sea salt paste made with Moroccan argan oil and sea kelp to keep hair moisturized.  I love to use this in conjunction with a sea salt spray to further define and shape my beach curls!  $7.99 (USD) 4 oz.

Color-WOW-ProductsColor WOW Brass Banned Mousse and One Minute Transformation are both easy to use products that give fast results for your on-the-go summertime madness!    Brass Banned Mousse is offered in two different formulas that counteracts brassiness (purple-tinted for blonde hair) or harsh orange and red brassy tones (teal-tinted formula for brown hair).  I found this product especially helpful in the weeks before I got my hair highlighted again, and found that it softened the blonde brassiness.  It is convenient especially if you are not one to use a lavender-tinted shampoo and conditioner, so you can just pull this product out as-needed.  It also gives the hair a little more texture or “guts” and is not stiff, so it is easy to work with.  One Minute Transformation  is a product I relied on as well during those last few weeks before seeing my hairstylist!  Think of this product as a life preserver for those times when you look at your fried hair in the mirror and wish you could be looking at smooth flowing locks.  I found this product to be easier to use than typical “fly-away” or smoothing serums or oils, which tend to either not work for me or weigh my hair down.  This product is a light lotion that I would smooth onto spots of my hair where I saw the most damage (front pieces, ends) and then as I would proceed with styling, resulting in much more smooth tresses!  This can also be used as a re-styler, so if I feel like my hair lacks that WOW factor after a long day I can smooth some of this product into my hair and then quickly hit it again with a blow dryer and a round brush.  $24 (USD) each

Organix-Brazilian-Kertain-Therapy-Flat-Iron-SprayOrganix Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray has been a long-time favorite of mine to use when I want a very smooth and shiny finish when I flat iron.  It smells absolutely amazing since it contains cocoa nut oil, and although I have to be careful I don’t use too much, the results are worth it!  $4.99 (USD) 2.7 g / 0.09 oz

Organix-Moroccan-Hair-Oil-TreatmentOrganix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Extra Penetrating Oil is something I like to use just on the ends of my hair when I feel they are feeling in need of some TLC.  I have actually gone through a whole bottle of Organix Moroccan Argan Oil (although it took me over a year!) and so I was excited to try out this extra penetrating version.  Although I do not have coarse hair, I simply adjust the amount I use and it works perfectly!  $19 (USD) 3.3 fl. oz.

Macadamia-Natural-Oil-Deep-Repair-MasqueMacadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque has been another long time favorite of mine-  as you can see from the photos she is quite used, and she is nearly gone!  I love the scent – it smells like sweet candy – plus it is effective at smoothing my hair.  My favorite way to use this product is right before getting into the pool to protect my hair!  I dampen my hair, work in the Deep Repair Masque and then twist it into a bun on the top of my head.  This way my hair has a little bit of a protection before the chlorine hits it – it really does make a difference! $28 (USD) 8.5 fl. oz. / 250 ml

Coconut-OilCoconut Oil has been all the rage for quite some time in the beauty community, and I’ve only recently used it on my hair as a hair masque – and I’m loving it!  It is rather messy, but smells amazing (just be sure to get extra virgin coconut oil – not expeller pressed or refined – if you want that amazing coconutty scent on your head like I do!)  While I do not find it moisturizes my hair, I find it gives my hair a glossy finish that lasts a couple days which I love!  $10 – $16 (USD) 16 oz.

Those are some of my top hair product picks for summer.  I would love to hear what some of your favorite summertime hair products are!

This is the final segment in the Summer Sexy 2013 Series here on VanityRouge.  Thank you for joining me in exploring some new summer products, as well as some long-time favorites!  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
