Her Cocoa Eye Shadow Quad – RiRi Hearts MAC Fall 2013 Collection

HER COCOA Eyeshadow Quad is one of two eye palettes available in the the RiRi Hearts MAC Fall 2013 Collection .  This quad is a warm-toned coppery palette, which has shades I’m certain I already own – but once seeing the limited edition packaging and how wearable the shades were in this particular palette would be for me, I decided to pounce on it!  This collection launches online at MAC at 12pm EST on 9/30 so be sure you jump on what you want right away too! (more release information below)

The pale pink packaging with metallic accents is softly luxurious!

The back of the packaging has a metallic (mirror-like) finish (which shows fingerprints)

The packaging has reflective pink around the edges, and a clear top and  “RiRi <3 MAC” on the front.

The quad contains a shimmering golden shade, pale peach, light bronze, and deeper bronze/brown.

The golden bronze shade is quite shimmery with slight glitter.  It has a Lustre Finish.  It applies well especially over a primer, but it can produce fallout if you try to use a blending brush.  I would recommend patting this one on the lid to minimize fallout.

The pale peach/pink shade is a perfect highlight shade.  It is a Satin Finish.  It blends out and builds up well.

The soft coppery bronze shade in the palette looks similar to the darker bronze, but it has more of a copper tint to it.  It is a Veluxe Pearl finish and I find it blends well on the lid, or even into the crease without looking too shimmery.

The deeper bronzed/brown shade has a Lustre Finish.  I find it works slightly in the crease and outer corner, although it has a little more sheen than the previous shade.  It is noticeably darker and distinctive enough from the previous shade so it makes for a beautiful contrast on the eye with both colors.  I found it blended out well and was easiest to work with when using an eye primer first.
