Can I get a hoo-ha for nudes?!

Idon’t know about you, but nude eyeshadow palettes always suck me in. Something about those gorgeous “crease” and “blending” shades mixed in with a few bronze-browns, an added gold and champagne for some va-va-voom and of course a matte black to round it all out those nudes always get me! In my quest to experience all things nude I of course could not resist picking up Maybelline The Nudes Palette, which is all that I wanted and then some, much to my surprise!

If you missed it, I’ve been working my way through the latest eye palettes from Maybelline, so to see more reviews up now, please click here.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

The Nudes palette includes 12 eyeshadows, which are roughly the size of a dime and a half which makes this compact perfectly travel-friendly! The packaging does not include a mirror, which I actually prefer since I never use compact mirrors to apply my makeup.

Of the twelve shadows, there are five matte shades, two that seem to have more of a satin finish, and five which are shimmery. There are a good mix of warm and cool-toned nudes in the palette but they still coordinate well with each other so you can mix and match or keep with the same tones when creating your eye looks.

Performance of this palette is excellent.  Not only does it swatch well, the color payoff is also impressive on the lids plus I don’t experience any fallout, even with the darker shades.  My favorites are the shimmers of the bunch (really no surprise here) and Maybelline did a beautiful job with the formula, smooth and silky without being chalky.  The matte shades are also smooth, blend well and they were more pigmented than I expected, although I do need to build some of the shades up a bit to my liking.  The lightest in pigmentation is the black shade, which is also a little on the firm side but it works well to run along the top lashline with a damp eyeliner brush for a soft liner look.

Overall I am very impressed with The Nudes palette from Maybelline.  For as inexpensive as this palette is, if you love your nudes then you must go get this one!
