Maybelline’s Dare to Go Nude Collection for this spring 2014 doesn’t just stop at the new Color Tattoos or Colorsensational Lipsticks.  This year they’ve added one of their newest products to the collection – the Color Elixir.  I’m finding these soft, nude and natural shades are a perfect addition to the collection and I’ve got three to swatch for you today!

While I have yet to do a full review on the Maybelline Color Elixirs here on VanityRouge, I purchased two from the original line over a month ago and I’m in love!  Astonishingly moisturizing, smooth and lightweight makes this gloss a top contender for budget-buy glosses (if not the top!).  While the original Color Elixer line features punches of color with here and there lighter shades, the Dare to Go Nude Collection is all about getting natural.  This collection offers a wide range of nudes, from deep browns to midtone shades on up to pale pink and peach – I saw six available shades in the display I spotted at my local drugstore.  I purchased three of the lighter shades (there is a paler pink yet that I did not pick up).  As you can see from the lip swatches above, my lips do show through a bit.  Gleaming Gold tends to be a clear (slightly warm) gloss with golden sparkle.  The two creamy shades, Sandy Sensation and Radiant Bloom can look a little milky if I try to fully cover my lips.  In the lip swatches above the camera makes it greatly pronounced, but from farther away it gives my lips a soft and slightly paled-out nude.  Overall, I think these are a nice nude addition to their regular line, and I’m not sure if these are permanent, so if you see a shade you like grab it!

What do you think of the new nude selections from Maybelline’s Dare to Go Nude Collection?  I’d love to know which ones you are going to pick up!

The Color Elixir’s shown in this post are currently available as part of Maybelline’s Dare to Go Nude Collection special displays found in drug, discount and beauty stores from $8.99 US and up.

Other makeup worn in this look: Guerlain Lingerie DePeau Foundation in 12 Rose Clair; Paula’s Choice Nude Mattes palette on the eyes; MAC Immortal Flower Powder Blush on the cheeks.

  1. I loved these high pigmented glosses. Radiant bloom is my favourite out of the three. It would look amazing over top a pale pink lipstick
