As much as we’d like it to be spring already, it’s still winter, baby! The Maybelline Baby Lips Winter Collection released toward the end of 2015 and while I’m a little late to the party it is still the season for getting those lips moisturized plus I’ve still spotted them in stores recently so I just had to share.
4 Baby Lips for sweet winter lips!
This cold-weather bunch of Baby Lips are given a festive flair with the scents and flavors of the season. Mint, spices, sweets and cocoa – I don’t know about you but that pretty much sums up my wintertime! The four shades are all pretty translucent but at least one of them surprised me and has become my favorite – let’s take a closer look.
- 210 Sprinkled Pink is a bubblegum pink shade that is scented and is sweet like frosting.
- 220 Cocoa Crush is a nude peach that is scented and tastes like cocoa.
- 215 Spice It Up! is a red that is scented and tastes like spiced berries.
- 205 Mint Please is a sheer/clear shade that tastes and smells like sweet peppermint.
L to R: 205 Mint Please | 220 Cocoa Crush | 210 Sprinkled Pink | 215 Spice It Up!
On the lips: 205 Mint Please gives a kiss of pink on the lips, but it is definitely sheer.
On the lips: 220 Cocoa Crush definitely surprised me, and it has become my favorite of this collection. Is a soft and sheer nude that is surprisingly pigmented.
On the lips: 210 Sprinkled Pink has a bit more pink than Mint Please so it shows up on the lips.
On the lips: 215 Spice It Up! is the boldest of the bunch. This one has been my favorite to wear with a simple flicked eye liner because it is easy to wear yet still packs a punch.
The Bottom Line
If you like the Baby Lips formula then you won’t be disappointed this collection. I like the festive shades along with the festive scents and flavors, and some of the colors have excellent color payoff especially for a balm. My favorite is Cocoa Crush because it is such an easy nude to wear!
THE NOT SO GOOD:
The scent of Spice it Up! isn’t my favorite, and I feel like the scents overall from this collection are quite strong, so if you don’t like scented/flavored glosses you may want to skip these.
Maybelline Baby Lips addicts probably already have this collection on their lips since it was released several months ago, but if you are a Baby Lips lover and you happen to see these then definitely go for it. The hint of color and a softening balm make these easy to wear when you don’t want to worry about reapplying your lips throughout the day or you just want to keep things simple!
What do you think of the Maybelline Baby Lips Winter collection? Did you pick up any of these? If so, which are your favorites?
