Barely Lit + Headturner

While swatching this product I was a little dismayed at what I was getting to transfer onto my skin, but once applied on my face (cheeks & eyes) I was very impressed and love the look I was able to achieve from just this palette (makeup look coming up soon!).

The bronzer, while light, it does show up on my fair skin and gives a beautiful glow to the face that is not at all orange.  While it does have a slight sheen to it once blended out, it is very natural looking.

The eyeshadows are a great combo together – my favorite is the middle shade, Romance Me which once built up on the lid is so unique with an earthy, multidimensional sheen.  The lightest shade, Hearts-A-Flutter is very light but blends out very nicely in the inner corner and brow highlight.  I am familiar with Shadowy Lady – which oddly enough is in a holiday palette I got from last year.  While it appears dark plum in the pan, it blends out more of a dark brown, with slight plum undertones.  It makes an excellent liner, or even a deep crease or outer V area shade.  I found all shades to be easily blended out.  I used a primer, and did not experience any creasing.

The lipsticks are a perfect addition to this palette.  Headturner is a beautiful berry shade and has a nice sheen to it all on its own.  Barely Lit while nearly sheer, gives a nice sheen to the lips all on its own, or on top of Headturner for a little more dimension to the lip.

The packaging is very chic and glamorous, with the tufted fabric satin top, and the shiny black bow.  The compact has a magnetic closure and seemed sturdy enough not to open if thrown into a bag (although I did not attempt at throwing it around just yet.).  The kit also with a double-ended brush – an angled blending brush which I used to apply the highlight, but I felt it was a little too soft to pack color onto the lid.  The other end is a lip brush that worked beautifully to apply the lip products.

Overall, I find the quality and selection of this palette very nice for the price, especially considering the packaging is just so very glamorous!  Plus, it contains basically all you might need for extra face/eye makeup if you were traveling especially.
