It never fails – come March I’m already itching for the warm summer days ahead. Carefree days of sipping on mango green tea, pulling out my floppy hat and putting maxi dresses on rotation always makes me a little more than excited when the days start to get longer. Even as we’ve only just crossed into the official spring season, I’m here today to scratch your summer itch with a few body and hair products that you can use for those upcoming summer days – or to just get a little summer going on right now if you are impatient like me!

Scrub Away Winter

A girls Gotta Spa Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub

A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub, $32,

When I experience a good body exfoliator I can almost hear my skin let out a long sigh of relief, especially after a long case of the winters!  This is definitely the case when experiencing this cruelty free, vegan and 100% natural body scrub from A Girl’s Gotta Spa.  Not your typical run of the mill exfoliator, the A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub contains avocado oil, Dead Sea Salt, green tea and citrus essential oils so it refreshes and leaves the skin feeling “climb into the sheets and giggle smooth” smooth. (Now that’s smooth!)

While some scrubs have more of a cleanser base that foams up and washes away, A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Scoops up like a handful of magical sand.  Exfoliation is controlled by how much pressure you use when using it on the skin.  I like to use it on my legs, chest and arms and use a light circular motion.  After exfoliating, the product rinses away but the oils in the formula leave the skin soft and silky!  Oh and let’s not forget the scent! The citrus oils keep it smelling fresh and so natural so it isn’t overpowering. Keep in mind this scrub contains sea salt so if you have any nicks or scrapes it’s gonna sting a bit!

Pixi Skintreats Nourishing Lip Polish

Pixi Beauty Skintreats Nourishing Lip Polish, $12,

Let’s not forget dry winter lips – now thanks to warmer days lips can go on a little less chapped, but in the meantime they need a little push in the right direction. I’ve been loving the new Nourishing Lip Polish from PixiBeauty, which contains shea butter, apricot and grapefruit oils to moisturize and stimulate the lips plus a massage applicator that softly exfoliates. The tip of the applicator has exfoliating ridges that are gentle yet effective and the formula has a slight amount of exfoliation as well. The product is designed to be applied to the lips and then left on to nourish and I’ve got to say I’m loving my soft lips!

Bring On the Bronze

February is usually the month when I’m itching to get glowing and bronzed but this year I delayed it a bit and decided to start up the routine just this week. I’m happy to report it has already put a summer spring in my step! My favorite self-tanner over the past several years has been Vita Liberata so once again it’s my go-to out of the gate. They’ve added to their tanning repertoire over the year so I’m excited to add some of these new ones to my tanning regimen. To start out though I’m using a favorite, the pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan. As with all of the Vita Liberata tanning foams I love how it spreads in evenly and gives a nice golden glow (no orange at all for me!).

Hair We Go!

Mitch Stone Texturizing Spray Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil

Mitch Stone Texturizing Spray $16, | Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil $21-$40,

Summer is the time for sunkissed tresses and beachy waves and lately I’ve been wearing my hair in its more natural hint-of-wave state with two products. Bumble & Bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil tames my hair so it can air-dry without frizzing out on me (seriously it’s been a lifesaver all winter!). Then of course it wouldn’t be summer without soft beachy waves so I’ve been taking the Mitch Stone Texturizing Spray to add body and give my hair soft texture without drying it out or making it feel crispy (plus the scent is amazing!). As a final step in my spring hair-refresh I’ve made an appointment to get my roots re-touched and a few highlights added to brighten things up a bit so I can be spring-to-summer hair ready!

Well, there you have it – 5 body and hair products that I’ve been into so I can get that summer feeling even when we’re in spring!  Now I want to know some of your spring-to-summer favorites that you’re pulling out to get that summer feeling.  Share in in the comments below or on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram too – I’d love to hear from you!
