Are you ready for a fresh start?  This year’s Transitional Collection from Zoya gives us the perfect opportunity to cleanse the nail palette, take our holiday nails into the next season and bring us right on into spring.  The Zoya Transitional 2016 Whispers Collection is comprised of six cream polishes in muted and baby-soft yet modern shades that work perfectly to cleanse our palettes and make a fresh start to 2016.  Today let’s look at photos and swatches of this collection, and I’ll share my thoughts on formula and experience in application.  Also see below for information on how to get this entire set discounted for a limited time.

April

April is described as a “a light, rosy toned neutral that is a modern take on blush”.  April has to be my favorite of this collection, and not only because that is my birth month!  I am always on the look out for the most perfect pale pink shade that has a beautiful formula, and those are very hard to come by.  This shade fulfills this to a “t” with a smooth and self-leveling formula that is easy to work with.  I do have to apply three coats for full opacity, but I am so happy with the result and the application experience this is definitely a top one for me!

Cala

Cala is described as a “soft nude with a kiss of warmth that will flatter most skin tones”.  Leaning toward a cream shade, but definitely more neutral, I can see how this will work with many skintones.  On my hands it brings out the warmer tones, but it doesn’t look overly yellow, just soft.  Again only two coats in the above photos with no base or topcoat, and the formula is as smooth as the others.  On my skin I feel it definitely gives me that “mannequin hands” look!

Eastyn

Eastyn is described as “a subtle grayed grape that is more interesting than mauve and gives a modern alternative that is ever so wearable”.  This one is my second favorite of the collection.  It is unique in that it is a taupe-like shade that doesn’t have too much purple or mauve in it, which makes wearing it feel very neutral and better than any “greige” shade out there.  This one is a keeper for sure!  I applied two coats with no top or basecoat in the photos above.  The formula was smooth and easy to work with.

Ireland

Ireland is described as “a uniquely wearable green that is muted enough to stay subtle yet still interesting”.  I like that this shade isn’t too bright or spring-like, so it makes for a stunning transitional shade from winter into spring for sure!  The formula, again, is smooth and easy to work with.  I used two coats to achieve full opacity (no base or top coat in the photos above).

Lake

Lake is described as “a softened blue that gives the effect of serene water with just a hint of vibrancy to preserve its luminosity”.  This shade is the perfect soft winter to spring soft true blue that has a perfect hint of dusty without going into a country blue, and it is not a bold robin’s egg shade meant for spring either.  If you love blues this is one you will want to get on your nails!  Above I’ve achieved full opacity on bare nails with two coats, and yes, the formula is amazing with this one too.

Misty

Misty is described as “an easy to wear taupe that is an updated version of gray with just a touch of green to make it daring.”  This shade is a soft beige with hint of green, almost reminding me of a pale khaki shade.  The green is very subtle, so along with the hints of gray in it it looks like a light beige on my nails.  Very neutral and anytime wearable.  The formula was smooth and easy to apply.  As with the other swatches I applied two coats with no base or top coat in the photos above.

Zoya Transitional 2016 Whispers Collection

At first glance the Whispers collection may not seem exciting, but for anyone who is a neutral, soft, and muted nails girl you are going to want to join me in making some noise for Whispers!  The formula is beautifully executed and I am pleased with every shade in this collection.  I think most of the polishes are neutral enough to work with many skin-tones, and I love that I even feel comfortable in the cooler shades of the bunch, which isn’t a normal occurrence for me.  Overall I definitely recommend – I think you will love this collection to give your nails a fresh look for 2016!

  1. These are so pretty! I want all of them, but I think I’ll restrain myself and just get Ireland and Eastyn. =)
