EARLIER THIS YEAR I featured an Airless Travel set by Sephora Collection that includes the above airless pump as well as other travel-friendly containers that make it easy to take your favorite products with you when traveling. One of my readers, Linda, asked if the airless pump top might work for a liquid foundation that does not come with a pump. After promising her I would give it a try I finally did a month ago and I love it so much I just have to feature it in my weekly favorites post in case it might help you out too! Thanks Linda!
THE AIRLESS PUMP holds 0.51 fl oz (15mL) and doesn’t have a traditional tube, but instead uses pressure to dispense product. To see a full review of the Airless Travel Set, please see my post here. I find the pump to work very well with my L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation. Because it is a very liquid-y foundation that tends to pour out fast and can get a little messy, it is very convenient to have this on in a pump! One downside to using a foundation as runny as this one, however is if you do not use the foundation on a daily basis, the tip becomes slightly clogged so you will need to clean off the tip with a makeup wipe before trying to pump out some product (or you might get a squirt of it everywhere!). ANOTHER FOUNDATION I’ve tried in the airless pump is the Revlon Nearly Naked. The Nearly Naked has more of a regular foundation consistency (although it is not thick) but it still dispenses just as easily, and doesn’t tend to squirt out with as much force as the Magic Nude!

NO MORE MESS! So far I have found that not only does this solve those messy no-pump foundations you have collecting on your vanity, it also makes it easier to take a small amount of foundation with you while traveling so you do not have to take a whole bottle. Now I totally think that is handy!
I TOOK IT a step further and decided to see how much of a pain this would be to clean out (should I run out of the foundation, or if I wanted to switch it out to another one) and I’m happy to report that it wasn’t as much of a mess as I thought it would be. I did have to use some brush cleanser and a few cotton buds to get it all clean, but other than that I find it worth it!
I LOVE the extra purpose I can get out of using this piece from the Airless Travel Set and highly recommend it for traveling as well. The pieces are TSA compliant and come in a variety of sizes and now colors as well!
