Urban Decay Primer Potions: Original, Eden, Sin, Greed | Swatches, Photos

Urban-Decay-Primer-Potions-(1)

While Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potions are not the latest news on the beauty market, they are definitely a cult classic.  When first discovering the beauty community on YouTube a few years ago there was probably not a single video that did not mention the need for an eye primer in every makeup tutorial, so that is the first purchase I ever made when getting into makeup!  Eye primers not only make your eyeshaodw last longer, they can enhance pigmentation in the eyeshadow you place on top.  Urban Decay‘s Primer Potion is at the top of the list of recommended eyeshadow primers/bases, and with the addition of various shades over the past couple of years (Original, Eden, Greed and Sin), it has made their line of bases very versatile for any eye makeup look.  The packaging of the primer potions have also been updated into convenient squeeze tubes, which was much requested by Urban Decay’s loyal customers (the product photos in this post are their previous packaging, but each shade of the primer potion is still offered.).

From the top: Sin, Eden, Greed, and the Original Primer Potion

Swatched left to right: Original (blends out colorless onto the skin),
Eden (a pale yellow-toned potion that gives a brightening effect to the eyes. Very helpful for dark inner corners!)

Swatched left to right: Sin (a light metallic with slight pink tones described as champagne by Urban Decay),
Greed (a pale gold with slight flecks of glitter)

Where to Buy: Full size squeeze tube: $20.00 each, Sephora.  Travel sizes of Original and Eden in the old packaging are still available for $9.00 each at UrbanDecay.com

Please Note: The photos of these travel potions in this entire set are not available all together on Urban Decay’s website, however, they do still have travel size versions of the Original and Eden set available on their website in this old packaging.  I purchased this particular set of four some time ago at my local Nordstrom Rack (possibly no longer available).

  1. UDPP is definitely the best primer…I’ve used a few others and I am waiting for them to be all used up before buying a new one! The packaging always fails though. I had the xl size of it and it got so hard that it exploded out of the back and rendered the whole thing useless!
