Ready to get matte (or demi-matte) for spring and summer?  The next SinfulColors and Kylie Jenner collaboration hit Walgreens and Target stores on April 1st, and at $2.99 each I couldn’t resist picking up a few of the Velvety Demi Matte polishes from the Walgreens release to share with you today.

I’ve got to admit I’m definitely more accustomed to seeing a glossy nail when I look down my manicure, so I wasn’t quite sure what I would think of the matte & demi matte selections in this rather large collection.  For details on the collection as well as a giveaway that is going on right NOW for 10 winners be sure to visit the post here on VanityRouge!

Kylie Jenner Trend Matters Velvety Demi Matte Polishes

Krushed Velvet, V.I.Peach and Kurtsey | 3 of the SinfulColors Kylie Jenner Trend Matters Collection now available at Walgreens and Target.

Krushed Velvet

Krushed Velvet Swatch

Krushed Velvet is a rich red plum with bronze-gold shimmer.  The color is more stunning on the nails than I expected and I’m glad I reached for this one!  The velvety matte finish has just the right amount of sheen to keep it from feeling flat, but if you’ve got your heart set on a glossy nail just top it off with a clear gloss and you are just going to melt it is so gorgeous!  The formula of this one was divine and reminded me of high-end polishes I’ve worked with.  Near opaque with one coat (but I applied two to get the thickness I like) this one is a definite winner!

V.I.Peach

V.I.Peach is described as a pastel peach shade, and it is a release with both of the Velvety Demi Matte and Satin Matte releases from this collection.  I was worried the peach would turn out too nude, but it is definitely a peach color which I love!  The finish is definitely more matte, but the addition of the flecks of gold shimmer keep it from looking blah.  I also tried topping this one with a clear gloss and I actually like it both ways (so hard to choose!).  In application the formula is excellent – near opacity with two coats and the consistency is beautiful however the brush on this one was not cut correctly so I had to work with jagged edges.  I’d definitely still recommend this because of the formula!

Kurtsey

VIPeach Kylie Jenner SinfulColors Swatch

Kurtsey is a beautiful periwinkle blue with pearly iridescent shimmers.  I was a bit worried the shade would look too pale or cool on my skintone for me to wear it comfortably but I am pleasantly surprised – it’s so fun, especially for spring!  I like the soft velvety-matte finish on this one and I haven’t even tried it with a glossy top coat because I love the finish so much.  It has just the right amount of sheen.  The application was a little bit dicey – the formula is on the thin side so I would have done better to go in with three thin coats but I got impatient and went in with two thicker coats so it pooled up a bit on the edge of my nails.  The shimmer isn’t too in your face but it is enough to give a soft “glow”.  Despite the formula I’m willing to work with it – it’s a fresh pick for spring!

Overall, while I only purchased three from one part of the collection (Target and Walgreens each have a separate release) I like what I’ve experienced so far.  What I’ve gathered is that they look even prettier on the nail than in the bottle and the addition of sparkle in the formula is a beautiful touch!  I wish the actual polish formula was more consistent between all of the shades (each one felt a bit different) but for $2.99 each I’m not going to cry about it.  I would repurchase each of these shades if I was given the choice again!
