The new Rouge Dior Couture lipsticks have my lips happy this fall and winter. In fact, this particular lipstick has been on my lips each time I am not testing out something new for feature here on VanityRouge – I’ve been wearing it that much! Smooth and pigmented, there are thirty-two timeless shades to choose from, which when faced with the task of “which one should I purchase” I admit seemed like an impossible feat! However, there was just something that caught my eye about Rose Dolce Vita as I was shopping online at Sephora and decided to take the leap. Today I’m sharing photos and a review of Rouge Dior 555, Rose Dolce Vita.

The packaging is sleek – I love the navy blue with silver accents – so classic!

ROUGE DIOR Couture Colour Lipstick has a soft texture with smooth pigmentation that is easy to apply. I am able to achieve full opacity with the shade Rose Dolce Vita with little effort. The formula is softening to the lips, and while I would not say it is hydrating enough to make my lips feel like they have a treatment on them, my lips feel very soft and comfortable while wearing it. The finish is said to be “satin” and while I find that to be true, it is a rather dimensional satin finish – nowhere near a frost, but there is dimension beyond just shine, which makes it very unique. I am happy to find that although this is not a long-wearing lipstick – it typically lasts me four hours without eating or drinking – the color and the finish wears down evenly throughout the wear time. I find this lipstick has a “classic” lipstick scent, that fades after application.
The shade Rose Dolce Vita in particular, is a unique warm rose color that at first glance that I was expecting to be more on the bronze/warm copper range. I was very pleased that it is such a wearable shade, and I’ve found it pairs well with smokey bronzed and copper eyes (shown here) to taupes and rosey shades from the Naked 3 palette. It is a very versatile “rose” shade that is unique in my collection, and I am very pleased with it.
