When Paula’s Choice introduced their new RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum at the tail end of 2012, I was very excited to learn that although this is recommended for any skin type, its light formula is perfect for those of us with oily skin! I have been using this serum for over a month now and wanted to share my thoughts with you.
Consistency of the serum is slightly watery, because it is a water-based serum.
Product Claims. The RESIST Ultra-Light serum has many skin benefits including antioxidants and hyaluronic acid (which repairs the skin). The ingredients fight multiple signs of aging, help repair skin, reduces inflammation in order to produce healthy collagen, and can normalize oily skin and reduce enlarged pores. It is effective for acne breakouts, and can help calm redness, and fade red marks from acne and brown spots. Paula’s Choice does not test on animals, and this product is 100% fragrance free.
Consistency and Application. Because this is a water-based serum, the consistency of this serum is slightly on the runny side, so if you are used to other Paula’s Choice serums you may be a little surprised that it does not feel “gel-like”. Because of the consistency, I have to take care that it does not begin to overflow as I unscrew the cap (I would usually give it a shake to mix it up, and then tap the bottom of the tube on the counter before slowly opening the top.) It is easy to disburse a small amount and then apply it onto the face (I usually dot a small amount on both cheeks, forehead, chin, nose and blend the remainder around the eyes.) Once on the face, it can be easily blended in and you can almost immediately see that it is being absorbed — with no slippery residue! You can apply this serum under or over moisturizer, or underneath sunscreen. I usually choose to wear this before my moisturizing step, of course topping it all of with sunscreen.
My Experience. I noticed an overall brightening of my skin when using this product. I felt it did a good job of balancing my oily skin, although of course it did not stop oil production, and it sets to a shine-free finish which is perfect for oily skin.
Overall, I am loving the fact that I can now use a serum that is light enough to work for my skin type, and I can feel good knowing I am giving my skin an anti-aging antioxidant-enriched serum that has so many benefits!

Hi Angie, hope you are well! Your website is looking beautiful! I always pop by to check out your reviews and swatches! They have just released this serum in Australia yesterday, so to see your review pop up was great, I was wondering if you had tried it and what you thought seeing as I am an oily girl too! Anyway, hope you are well, would love to see you on yt again but when you are ready, life gets busy and sometimes things need to take a back seat.Love Lou xo
Hi Lou! So good to hear from you!
I hope all is well for you also.
Thank you so much for the sweet compliments and it warms my heart to know you stop by to check out my site! <3
What perfect timing on the serum release! I think you will definitely like this one – I was so hesitant at first since I didn't want it to cause breakouts, but I have not experienced any, and I love the non-slippery feel of this serum and how it absorbs into the skin. It is perfect for my skin!
Thank you for the encouragement to get back into making videos. I actually filmed a haul video last week, but as I was still playing with the settings on my new camera I am not quite pleased with it. I also attempted to film my Jan 2013 favorites video yesterday but my neighbor decided to do yard work for 2 hours, and then by that time I had to get the kids from school and begin getting ready for dinner. (Not that you wanted excuses, but I thought it might be humorous!) I am very excited to be getting back into making videos again, and although VR has taken a lot to get in place initially, I have prepared a schedule for myself that fits in filming so I should be back soon! I hope to film one video this weekend and another this week (Jan Favorites and Skincare Routine) so let's hope I can coordinate this with my neighbor's plans (lol!)
Haha, all that to say I look forward to getting back into the swing of things with YT. I enjoy talking to everyone!
Thanks again Lou for all of your support!
<3 ya too!
