NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is a little product that took me by surprise. Typically when I see the word “matte” on a lip product, I have my lip balms at the ready to prepare for the inevitable moisture-sucking-dryness that occurs. But with this one… well I did say it took me by surprise!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo on the lips
First of all, the shade San Paulo is absolutely gorgeous! A rich mid-toned pink that I think would flatter many skin tones. The shade reminds me of a deeper, matte version of Too Faced La Crème in I Want Candy. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream goes on smooth and creamy, and is actually rather moisturizing. The finish is mostly matte, yet has enough of moisture left to be comfortable on the lips. The color is intensely pigmented so it goes on very opaque and can also be easily layered without causing it to misbehave, and a slight stain is left on the lips as it wears, which is nice for touchups.
Overall, this product is a great way to get a matte look on the lips without having to sacrifice moisture or wearability. I look forward to trying more shades!

I’m so glad you got this shade! It’s one of the lip colors I’m expecting to get heavy use out of this spring.
It is so gorgeous! I love it!
Gorgeous! Totally on the lookout for this now!
I would totally recommend! I think I want to try out the paler shade (I think it is a nude color) next!
Love this color! I have a few of these and LOVE them! NYX really makes awesome lippies. You should try the new butter glosses they have out now
I have heard a lot about the butter glosses and I think I will definitely give them a try!
