It’s getting to be that time of year where more skin will be showing and so getting a little color back into my hibernating extremities has been something on my mind lately!  For a few years now I have been a huge fan of the aerosol version of the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup to give my legs, arms and chest a little color for last-minute results that look good.  I was very excited when I saw a new formula pop up in drugstores this year in a tube which will be so much easier to work with!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup in Light (3)

Think of this product just as it is described: Leg Makeup!  It is not a self-tanner and will wash away with soap, water, and scrubbing with a washcloth.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup in Light Swatch

Swatched: Sally Hansen Leg Makeup in Light.  It has more of a tan tone to it rather than orange, which is flattering.

I’m excited to try this product out and see what I think, especially compared to the aerosol version!  Are you a fan of the Sally Hansen Leg Makeup?  I’d love to hear what you think!

Interesting….some quickie spray-on would be good because I hardly ever wear shorts/skirts long enough to tan the natural way, and I have no patience for the gradual color lotion….but how does this hold up over the day? Does it rub off onto your clothes?

The spray one I have used for a few summers now and it holds up beautifully. I found it even withstands getting in and out of the pool without getting blotchy or fading off, unless you really rub with a towel. It stays on my skin even through sweating and even if I leave it on while I sleep. As far as clothing I do not notice it getting on my clothing that is colored/dark however, I have worn white shorts, a white dress and white capris and each time the inside gets the product on them after awhile, although it does wash out in the laundry it looks rather disturbing, lol. ;) I find even with the spray on it was easier to just spray it in my hand and then rub onto the legs/arms/chest, because directly spraying it was too messy. Even with the spray design on the original one it was still meant to be blended in (similar to makeup) with hands after spraying it on your skin. If you do try it just be sure to blend well and add until you like the coverage, again similar to makeup, and then let it dry a bit before dressing. That totally helps. I really like the spray product so I hope this works just as well. I will be sure to do a full review on this one. Hope this helps in the meantime! :)

Oh! I’m dying to know what u think. I went and picked up (my tried and true) sally Hansen spray on, and saw the lotion, but only had enough cash for one… Not knowing which color would match, etc. I went with the original. I tend to mix the spray with some body lotion to apply. so I would love the ease of the lotion all in one! Thanks for the post!

Now this is something I would love to try! I loved the idea of the spray they have, but it was a little heavy and messy to apply. Beautiful finish though! I hope this comes out here in Australia soon :) can’t wait to see how it goes for you! xx

Yes I found the spray heavy and messy, so I would always spray it in my hand but still have to stand in the tub to do so! Oh but I loved the effect it gave my legs! Nice color and they looked so smooth. :) I hope it comes out soon for you as well. I look forward to reporting back! :)

I bought the lotion and LOVE the fact that it doesn’t have that awful glitter in it (it made the spray version a dead give away that it was makeup- not like the old version). The problem I have found with the lotion, is that the coverage is not as good and it is not as water resistant. Is the new spray any better? I had read it still had a shiny glitter, so wasn’t going to waste money on it if it hadn’t changed.
