New Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks
Revlon has introduced a new Shine formula to their Super Lustrous lipstick line. Ten shades with lightweight color and moisturizing shine offer a variety of easy-wear shades, and I think they are a great addition to the Revlon lipstick family! I have three of the ten shades to share with you today.
Top to Bottom: Pink Incognito, Lover’s Coral, Rich Girl Red
Revlon has updated the packaging a bit with smaller lettering, but still in the classic tube with gold accent.
Swatched L to R: Pink Incognito, Lover’s Coral, Rich Girl Red
On the Lips: Pink Incognito, a very sheer hint of pale pink.
On the Lips: Lover’s Coral, a beautiful coral pink
On the Lips: Rich Girl Red, a vibrant easy-wear red that is buildable.
“Sophisticated shine with lightweight color” is how Revlon describes their new Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks.
Formula | Pigmentation | Longevity | Application
The Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks above are all very easy-wear lipsticks with a fair amount of sheen. The feeling on the lips is softening, although I did not find it hydrating, per-say. In fact, I find the the new Super Lustrous Lip Glosses very hydrating compared to these. The formula has a little slip to it, and initial feeling on the lips is quite light, but settles down to a medium-weight lipstick. When looking at all three of these shades, they do look quite pigmented, however, once swatched or on the lips, they are a little more sheer. Pink Incognito does contain enough pigment to slightly lighten my lips, although it is very sheer and cannot be built up. Lover’s Coral is more vibrant, and I can build up the coral pink shade quite a bit on the lips. Rich Girl Red is also quite pigmented and can be built up on the lips. While the lipsticks apply and build up fairly easily, I find the formula to slide outside of my lips a bit while wearing, so using a lip liner with these would be a must for me to keep it from traveling. After initial application the lipstick has quite a fair amount of shine (not as much as a lipgloss), but the shine quickly dies down less than 30 minutes after wearing it, as the lipstick settles more into the lips. The result is a very soft light satin finish on the lips. The two darker shades do leave a little bit of stain behind, so they last a little longer than Pink Incognito. I get approximately 1.5 hours of wear before I would need to apply, but the entire wear time is very comfortable, and it wears off evenly as time goes on.
Overall if you are a fan of Revlon lipsticks and you see a shade you love I think you should definitely look into these. While they do not last very long on the lips, and the shine does die down quickly, if you like more of a “settled in” satin finish on the lips that wears off evenly you might like these!
