Revlon has introduced a new Shine formula to their Super Lustrous lipstick line.  Ten shades with lightweight color and moisturizing shine offer a variety of easy-wear shades, and I think they are a great addition to the Revlon lipstick family!  I have three of the ten shades to share with you today.

“Sophisticated shine with lightweight color” is how Revlon describes their new Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks.

Formula  |  Pigmentation  |  Longevity  |  Application

The Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks above are all very easy-wear lipsticks with a fair amount of sheen.  The feeling on the lips is softening, although I did not find it hydrating, per-say.  In fact, I find the the new Super Lustrous Lip Glosses very hydrating compared to these.  The formula has a little slip to it, and initial feeling on the lips is quite light, but settles down to a medium-weight lipstick.  When looking at all three of these shades, they do look quite pigmented, however, once swatched or on the lips, they are a little more sheer.  Pink Incognito does contain enough pigment to slightly lighten my lips, although it is very sheer and cannot be built up.  Lover’s Coral is more vibrant, and I can build up the coral pink shade quite a bit on the lips.  Rich Girl Red is also quite pigmented and can be built up on the lips.  While the lipsticks apply and build up fairly easily, I find the formula to slide outside of my lips a bit while wearing, so using a lip liner with these would be a must for me to keep it from traveling.  After initial application the lipstick has quite a fair amount of shine (not as much as a lipgloss), but the shine quickly dies down less than 30 minutes after wearing it, as the lipstick settles more into the lips.  The result is a very soft light satin finish on the lips.  The two darker shades do leave a little bit of stain behind, so they last a little longer than Pink Incognito.  I get approximately 1.5 hours of wear before I would need to apply, but the entire wear time is very comfortable, and it wears off evenly as time goes on.

Summary

Overall if you are a fan of Revlon lipsticks and you see a shade you love I think you should definitely look into these.  While they do not last very long on the lips, and the shine does die down quickly, if you like more of a “settled in” satin finish on the lips that wears off evenly you might like these!

I felt the same way about Pink Cognito. I love Rich Girl Red on you! I think I need the coral. That is what looks best of my skin tone.

  2. Ashley says:

Awe, I was really hoping for better things. But it’s quite disappointing that they bleed around the lips. I think I might sill pick up Rich Girl Red, as I love the color.

Hi Ashley – yes I think you should definitely give it a try – Rich Girl Red is a beautiful and easy to wear red! You may not experience traveling on your lips – it isn’t too bad – it just leaves a slightly “lived in” lipstick look on me, but it could be my age. ;) I imagine you will have better luck since you do not have those kinds of issues yet. :D

  3. Linda Frances says:

I love the coral on you.

  4. Miranda says:

these look pretty but I am loving that coral! Might have to try it out :) ummmm, would you quit making my list longer and longer! :P

  5. Amber says:

I tried Berry Couture and was surprised at how little pigment it had! It left a bit of a stain behind, but otherwise I wasn’t thrilled. Love the coral and red on you! :)

    • Angie says:

Oh that is too bad! I think I kind of feel like the red one might perform similar, with the die-down of the sheen so quickly on these, it leaves the lips a bit lackluster. I can see those who might not be fully prepared to take on a bold lip using these as a platform for experimenting with bold shades! :)

I love when I do a google image search to find a swatch of something and say “hey! I know those lips/eyes/nails, etc” and here I am at your page :-) hehe
