NARS x Steven Klein Collection Is Set to Shake Things Up on October 5th

If you have yet to hear of Steven Klein as I had not until this morning, you may want to go into google searching with an open mind and a little caution if shock isn’t your forte.  “Jaw-dropping” would be a great way to describe the photographer’s work – but beyond that initial moment of “just what am I looking at?” comes the sense of a true artistic genius, and a new perspective on something that you would never have seen in that light before.

So now what does Steven Klein have to do with makeup? The latest collection from NARS, releasing later on this week (October 5th) on narscosmetics.com, is in collaboration with the famed photographer, the NARS x Steven Klein Collection for Holiday 2015.  Not just a few pieces here and there, this collection is huge, giving us a tantalizing number pieces to choose from.  The entire color palette is fairly neutral, calm and looks extremely wearable, but the packaging is where the collaboration is clearly the most pronounced.

The palettes have unique photos from the artist on the outside, but most notably (and probably most likely to sell out in a hot minute) is the lip pencil coffret, which is shaped like a giant golden bullet!  Well now won’t that look nice and menacing on my vanity?! YASSS honey!

Here is a snippet of some of the pieces in the collection – be sure to watch the unboxing from Allure (shown above or here), or see a full slideshow of the pieces here on Refinery29.  While most of the pieces are set to launch on October 5th on NARS site, some of the pieces look to be available in November at Sephora so stay tuned!

  1. This is the first collection from any line in a long time that I think I’m interested in just about all of the pieces! I don’t have a lot of experience with NARS other than a duo shadow and the free birthday gift from Sephora. But I was impressed with the few pieces I do have. I’m hoping the quality of this collection will be as pleasing as the artistic packaging!
