If you cringe at bold color, take another look because you just might be surprised at how wearable these brights actually are!

Don’t get me wrong, bold pink and purple eye shadow are beautiful and some girls can rock the heck out of them, but on a typical day, I my friend, am not one of those people.  This past weekend I decided to throw all caution to the wind and tackle the two most intimidating shades from the Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 2 – yes the other one that is not filled with my favorite neutrals.  After pumping myself up to unleash all the color, I was leafing through the booklet included with the palette and noticed three looks you can create, along with placement and how-to.

“Hooray!”, I thought, ” I just might not completely fail at this!”

Pink & Purple = Go!

Well hopefully I won’t disappoint you when I say that I was super excited to find out that by using the hot pink and the electric purple you can sculpt some killer color for the cheeks and the palest shade on the lids with a flick of liner is all you need to balance it all out.  I ended up loving this look so much and I’m even pleased with the longevity and performance of using these Artist Shadows on my cheeks – the color lasted all day on top of foundation and it was easy to blend during application too!  Here are some shots I took of the look:

  • ME-910 (pink) on the top of the cheekbones

  • I-872 (pearly pink) on the lids up to the brow bone and on the upper cheekbone.

At first I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with these bold colors on my cheeks but they performed beautifully and I am very pleased with the look!

Since I was having so much fun with pink and purple I decided I would try out purple lips using another one of the MUFE Artist Plexi-Gloss.  Now this look screams playful indeed!

  1. Beautiful! This is probably one of the best blush combinations I have ever seen. Unique and fun, but still subtle. And you can really rock some purple lip gloss. =)
