I love a good nude eye palette just like the next girl and if you read my review of the Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 1 and 2 I posted about last week you would hear me blathering on about how amazing they are. I also posted a makeup look using the more colorful of the palettes, Volume 2, but today I decided to keep it sweet and simple by creating a soft nude look with the palette. The overall look is brightening with just the right amount of depth and shimmer.  I can definitely see this combo going on repeat for me!

At first I was trying to recreate the Natural Look which is a makeup look idea inside a booklet that included with the palette but now I realize as I’m typing it out I mixed a couple of the shades around, to which I have this to say:

“Oopsie and LOL”

Here’s what I did:

  1. Apply Artist Shadow I-514 Pink Ivory onto the eyelid.
  2. Apply Artist Shadow D-562 Celestial Earth along the upper and lower lashlines, outer corner and into the crease.
  3. Apply Artist Shadow I-544 Pink Granite just above the crease and along lower lashline.
  4. I curled my lashes and applied 2 coats of mascara

For the lips I used my new favorite natural combo, Laura Mercier Plumberry Lip Pencil topped with Make Up For Ever Plexi-Gloss in 105P Pearly Beige.

Although I got the two taupe shades mixed up (according to the MUFE suggested look) I actually rather like the glint of the Diamond shadow on the upper lashline and felt it even worked well in the crease.  Next time I will try using Pink Granite in all the right places to see what that is like instead though.  I’m sure MUFE knows what they’re doing when they put a look together after all! 😉

Do you have a go-to natural look for eyes that you gravitate towards?  I’d love to know what you use!
