I have been looking around for awhile now for the beautiful Colour Riche Caresse Liquid Lip Lacquer (Wet Shine Stain) glosses to appear in my local drugstores and finally I scored a few last night to review for you! I can’t wait to try these out (I’ve been playing with them since last night already!) and I will have swatches a full review for you soon. I have been hearing these called Shine Caresse, and I must say I like the name of that more than “Wet Shine Stain” which L’Oreal calls them on their website– so I think in my head I am going to be calling them Shine Caresse, possibly even out loud as well, lol.
YSL Dupe? These glosses have been compared to the YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain ($32 USD). I love my Glossy Stain and so I will definitely be doing a comparison post between the two soon as well. Initially I can tell you they smell just like the YSL Glossy Stain, and the initial feeling of them on the lips when applying is also very similar! I will be sure to let you know my final comparison thoughts coming up soon.
Packaging Note! I also wanted to note that I can confirm what I have been hearing from other beauty bloggers and vloggers – the glosses are not sealed! It is as if L’Oreal misplaced the usual barcode sticker, which they usually place along the product lid so it is “tamper evident”. However, the lid is not sealed, so if you do find these I would highly suggest looking for signs that they have been opened and possibly “swatched”. I was able to find a display that only had one missing and I could see by looking at the tubes which ones had been handled by someone because of fingerprints. Additionally, when I first opened each tube I could see that it had not been opened (the interior was black and once you pull out the applicator wand then there is lip product that is scraped along the sides. Had one of these looked as if it had been opened and the applicator wand taken out of the tube, I am not sure I would have the guts to put it onto my lips. It makes me very queasy just thinking about it honestly! What do you think? Would this hinder you from purchasing this product? I’d love to know your thoughts! Here is a photo of what they look like:
As you can see, the top of the gloss can be freely opened. L’Oreal’s other products usually have the UPC barcode sticker placed on the product so you have to peel it off to gain access do the product. With a lipstick I do not mind too much, but with a gloss such as this, I would be hesitant of purchasing it if it looked like it had been opened.
Where To Buy: $9.99, Ulta (I found a display at CVS for $10.49 each because my Ulta had not gotten them in yet!)

Oh, my, if these are anything like the YSL Lip gloss stains, I’ll be stocking up. The YSL stain is my HG lip product but truly a once a year splurge. I’ll be looking for these – haven’t seen them yet here in Canada. Thanks for the review.
P.S. Yes, if one looked like it had been opened, I would not purchase it. Yuck! I’m sure L’Oreal will remedy this – I’m surprised to hear it happened.
I too love my YSL but I have only purchased one so far – I agree they are an occasional splurge for sure!
I will have a full review & swatches of the ones I purchased up yet today and then later this week will have a full comparison between them and YSL.
I honestly cannot believe that they aren’t sealed as well. I am hoping it is just a manufacturing mistake, but I am hearing the same thing from people all over the US finding them like this. It is so strange!
Wallmart has them now in toronto. And it had the barcode tamper thingy on it
i purchased pink rebellion , i like it
Oh Pink Rebellion looks so pretty! After my initial purchases I kind of want to take another look at more shades that I “need”.
Happy to hear they have the tamper evident packaging where you are! Hopefully we’ll see that show up soon here. I have seen this added to the permanent line here, so I am hoping they will send in some that will be more “sealed”.
Loving these! YSL dupe for the win!
I agree they are great!
I’m still debating if these are worth the $9.99 price tag. It smelled way too strong and weird to me at first. That’s the only drawback for me at the moment. Might just get the original YSL glossy stain instead. Still doing some research haha not paying $10.00 each for Loreal brand.
Yes they do smell a bit strange at first, but the scent is nearly identical to the YSL Glossy Stain. I just think of it as a field of flowers scent or a perfume and I can get past it (and even call it luxurious!) Haha.
I like it! I would agree this amount of product is a bit steep, but for 1/3 of a YSL I think it is worth seeing if you like the formula.
I will have a full comparison review of the two up on Wed or Thurs this week too so hopefully that helps.
I found these at Target today for $7.99. Luckily I did the same test to make sure the ones I purchased were unused. So far the lighter shades are a bit sheer, but I’m excited to experiment with the darker ones.
Oh wow! Great price on those – good job! I’m happy you were able to tell which ones were unused as well.
I was so curious about some of the lighter shades? Did you happen to get the nude one? I was wondering what kind of stain and/or pigmentation that one has.
