I’m Either Pitiful Or Savvy…My Last-Ditch Sephora VIB Sale Order Has Arrived

In Deals, Sephora by Angie Canning4 Comments

I really wasn’t planning on placing another Sephora.com order during the final day of the Sephora VIB sale that ended this week.  But sure enough, at 11:35 PM, when the sale was just within minutes of ending and that precious code ROUGELOVE would be lost forever I couldn’t help myself.  I logged in, added two items checked out and that was that.  Pretty anti-climactic I know, and then about an hour after it was over I saw all of the tweets about the latest Make Up For Ever Palettes being released while the sale was still on and the new Urban Decay Afterglow Blush but by that time I was sadly too, too late.

Oh well!  There will be more VIB sales to look forward to, but in the meantime here is what I picked up:

  • Laura Mercier Silk Créme Oil Free Photo Edition Foundation$48 – I’ve been curious about this since I’ve heard LisaLisaD1 talk about it on YouTube.  I actually never did try the original Silk Créme formula everyone is crying about so I won’t have that perspective in my review but I’m definitely interested in giving this one a go.  Now who knows if I got the correct shade, just a quick mark on the cheek tonight reveals I might have been way out in left field so I may have to go in and exchange it if I got the wrong one, but we shall see!
  • Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual$36 – I know what you’re going to say here.  GIRL, you already picked that one up…like TWICE!  What is your deal?  Haha, yes.  Funny story is that I’ve been on the hunt for one to match my previously perfect pinky one I picked up in 2013 (review here) and after returning the previous two (without using them) I decided to go for it again.  And what do I now see before me?  Yet another one that is going back!  I’ve pretty much decided I won’t try again unless I miraculously get to see a real one in person at my Sephora (I have a hunch they are keeping it from me so I don’t ask to open all the boxes, haha!)  I’ve determined I’m just going to enjoy the one I already own until I can’t swipe out any more from the pan and then see if they decided to make it like they used to.  Oh well.

So one disappointment and one hopeful!  Be looking for a review of the foundation soon!

Did you make any last-minute orders shopping online at Sephora during the VIB sale?  What did you pick up?

  1. I’ve heard good things about the LM foundation too. I used to use a LM foundation years ago then switched when my skin changed. Will be looking to see the review from you when you pick up the perfect shade. It’s comparable price-wise to the Tilbury foundation I just bought but since it’s much easier to get (plus Rouge points) I’d be open to switching.

  2. I managed not to buy anything this time around! And I am proud of myself. Now you have me really curious about that LM bronzer and if I see one in person with a lot of pink, I am definitely going to get it!

  3. Of course I vote for savvy!! I didn’t make a third order because the Laura Mercier Artist palette was out of stock….bummer!
