Hard Candy CC Cremé (Correction Cremé) Review, Swatches | Fair and Light

Hard Candy CC Cream Fair and Light (2)

Hard Candy’s CC Cremé, or Correction Cremé, is a product intended to balance your complexion, leaving an even-toned and radiant finish.  I have two shades to share with you today, Fair and Light.

The packaging is very cute and fun!

 Product description and directions.

 Swatched: Fair (bottom), Light (top)

Applied to the face using my hands.

Hard Candy states their CC Cremé can give 5 Flawless Results in 1:

  • Color corrects skin tone
  • neutralizes undertone (using special light optic pearls)
  • Brightens complexion
  • Evens Skin Texture
  • Oil Free

This product has an SPF of 15, which seems a bit low, especially when compared to similar products currently available at the drugstore.  It is available in Fair, Light, Medium and Dark shades.

Application & Color Comparison.  I applied this product using my fingers, as indicated in the directions.  I found that it blended well enough, but the color would get patchy in places, so I would definitely advise using a small amount as the product directions indicate.  As you can see from the above photos, the swatch on the cardboard packaging, the shade Fair looks darker than Light, however, when swatched and applied to the face, Fair is more light and yellow-toned, while Light is more tanned, which I think would work well in the summertime, but I felt this one did not brighten my face up as much as Fair did, so I would definitely recommend getting the correct shade for optimal results.  I felt the product did an okay job of evening out some redness on my face, although the coverage is very sheer, compared to other similar products currently available at the drugstore.

Finish and Longevity.  This product lasted all day on my oily skin, however found I started looking shiny at approximately 3-4 hours.  I set this product with a mattifying powder (as suggested in the application directions) which seemed to help.  I think dryer skin may favor this a bit better.  The finish has a slight sheen to it, not overly shiny, but it does give off that “radiance” Hard Candy describes.  The plus with this product is that it feels very lightweight on the skin.

Product Ingredients.  Please click here for image of package listing active and inactive ingredients.

Overall, I find the color tones to be warm in both the Fair and Light, and so I am curious how this would blend into more pink-toned skin, and if it would neutralize the undertones as Hard Candy describes.  I would love to know if you have found it to work for you if so!  My main concern is the low SPF rating on this product, compared to other similar products that have SPF25+ currently available at the drugstore, I would opt for one of those, or have to apply sunscreen before applying this product to obtain a higher SPF*.  This product may work best for dryer skin types, and possibly anyone who has more even-toned skin already.

*I am most comfortable wearing a SPF rating of at least 30 on my face daily.  For extended periods of sun exposure I opt for a higher SPF rating, and reapply every 2 hours.  For more information on SPF and what the ratings mean, here is a helpful article from Skincancer.org

I bought one and its seemed more on the orange side for me. Still don’t know how I feel about it but hoping to like it more once I play with it a bit more. Looks great on you!

Yes I agree it does tend to be a little orange, especially the “Light” shade. Did you have any problems blending it into the skin? For me if felt a little harder to evenly distribute it and blend it in. It could be that I noticed it more when I was using the “Light” one since that one looks more orange, and with the “Fair” one, it was more light yellow so it was a little easier to blend in.

I just bought this in Fair. I’m a pale redhead with pink undertones and this looked a little too dark when I first dabbed it on. I have to really blend to get it to match my skin, and I think it may be a tad too dark but probably no one else would notice it, so I will continue to wear it. Overall I like the coverage and the feel of it.

Thank you for sharing your experience as well as your skin tone, that will be very helpful for others reading this post as well. :) I am glad you like the coverage and feel of this too!
