My hair may produce an ungodly amount of oil, but now budget-friendly solution can be mine!

Dear Reader, I’ve been holding out on you, and for that I’m sorry.  I professed my love for the Dove Dry Shampoo weeks ago on Instagram but knew in the back of my head (or should I say top of my head…ba-dum-dum) I should introduce my VR readers to this little wonder, and today is the day.  I’ve tried most budget-friendly dry shampoos on the market and I usually tolerate them for a little while until I get sick of the scent, find it just doesn’t work that well, or leaves my hair feeling even worse than it does when it is greasy *yuck*.  Oh how I wish I could go days on end without washing my hair, but alas that reality will not be mine.

For the past several months I’ve been using and loving the Dove Dry Shampoo.  I hadn’t even heard of it before it came across my desk and now I’m convinced it was fate.

#1 The scent is simple and fresh – not floral or powdery or something strange that you will smell all day long and wonder in your head where that smell is coming from – it’s just fresh.

#2 It works.  I feel like this product absorbs my oil more effectively with less product than other brands I’ve tried, doesn’t leave my hair looking prematurely gray (I have enough stray grays to make me feel old, thank you very much!) and it also doesn’t make me feel like I’ve dumped a bunch of powder in my hair and rubbed it around (a.k.a., the buildup is minimal).

#3 It’s cheap.  I realize cheap is a relative term, but compared to other dry shampoos on the market today, $3-$5 for a bottle of dry shampoo is a steal and if you aren’t sure about it is definitely worth a try in my book girlfriend!

  1. I will have to try it, I haven’t had much luck with drugstore dry shampoos. My favorite one is Bed Head Dirty Secret. Have you tried it?

I actually haven’t tried that one yet! I think so far my favorite higher end one is theBalm En Route – that one works so well and the scent is amaaazing! 😀 I will have to check into the Bed Head!

  2. Your review convinced me to try it and I have no regrets, it is definitely worth it. The review is spot on! Thanks!
