On the Quest for Cream Contour Palettes

In Beauty Extras!, Wish List by Angie Canning2 Comments

Why settle for powder when you can have cream?  The latest metamorphosis in the contour-your-aunt-and-her-cat (and maybe the dog too) craze is the creation of the cream contour palettes, and these have got me intrigued.  With many options to choose from major brands like Laura Mercier, Cover FX and Anastasia Beverly Hills you know this contour thing is totally what I need to be doing these days if I wanna be like the cool kids.  Here are a few cream contour kits available now that look pretty stellar:

  1. COVER FX CONTOUR KIT | $48 USD
  2. ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS CONTOUR CREAM KIT | $40 USD
  3. SMASHBOX STEP-BY-STEP CONTOUR STICK TRIO | $45 USD
  4. LAURA MERCIER FLAWLESS CONTOURING PALETTE | $50 US
What do you think of cream contour?  Do you find it easier to work with?  Harder?  Would you recommend it for all skin types?
I’d love to know what you think as I explore contour’s creamier side!

  1. i have the Contour cream kit from Anastasia, the light kit. Unfortunately the darker shades are really orange, so that doesn’t work with my skin tone. Although the light colors are nice, but i wouldnt recommend buying it since it’s quite expensive. i live in Sweden so had to order it from the US and it cost me +$60. I dont think it’s worth it if you don’t have orangey skin tone.

Hi Sanna! Thanks for sharing your experience with the Anastasia kit – such a bummer it is too orange for you though 🙁 I hope you can find something that works better for you! I have yet to see it in person so I will be sure to do so if I decide to purchase that one, so thank you!
