Since reviewing two of the Printemps Précieux de Chanel Spring 2013 collection items earlier in the week, the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Frivole, and the Illuminating Powder, I was inspired to create a spring look similar to the Chanel advertisement for the collection. While I did not have the colors of the eye quad that came out with this collection, nor the lipsticks, I decided to use what I had to create an inspired look.
You can see the illuminating powder on the top of the cheekbones – I love it!
A soft glow, with the perfect pop of bright shades in this look are really making me want spring to get here a little more quickly!
For the eyes, I used a combination of products I had on-hand: L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Blinged and Brilliant (a shimmery rose-gold) on the lid and Bottomless Java (a shimmery dark mocha brown) in the outer corner. In the crease I used Wet n Wild’s Nutty (a soft brown with sheen). For a brow highlight I used the Chanel Illuminating Powder. For more a more authentic look to the advertisement I should have mixed in a more plummy brown-tone, but did not have one with the right finish I was looking for.
On the lips I wanted to keep it bright but sophisticated, and chose one of the new L’Oreal Caresse Aqua Lacquer (Wet Shine Stain) glosses in Rose On And On, which I think fits perfectly in this spring look!
How anxious are you for spring to arrive?

You look beautiful Angie. I know this is focused on Chanel Spring products but I couldn’t stop obsessing over your lips. Lucky me, I have that same shade and that’s all I been wearing too! hehe Like I said, great minds think alike. I haven’t worn pink resistance much since it’s more sheer and not as pigmented compared to rose on and on.
Julie – thank you!
I am so surprised at how much I love Rose On And On! I love the pigment and the sheen so much – it is so wearable too! It has been the one out of all of them that I have picked up the most frequently this week! Us and our great minds at work again, huh!?
Sigh. Angie, there is something so regal about your beauty. I feel like you could don a luxuriously jeweled crown and not a thing would look unusual or out of place about it.
I love seeing “inspired by” looks that include real gems from a collection and alternative products from other brands. It’s a good reminder that I can shop my stash for similar products or rediscover some amazing shades I already own.
Oh Alison – you are so kind!
Well I would totally be down with donning a crown- but real jewels would be a must – haha!
I’m glad you liked the combination look – I wished I had all pieces from the collection, but like you, I like to be reminded I can recreate something similar and give some of my stash a little more love!
Hi Angie,
You look gorgeous! It’s so classic elegant and I love your beautiful hair. The L’Oreal Shine Caresse match your whole face perfectly, it looks so fresh and young
Thank you for your kind compliments!
I am loving the L’Oreal Shine Caresse glosses, and this one is definitely going to be my go-to for spring for sure – it is just so vibrant and fresh!
You look beautiful and I love the gloweyness..is that a word?! haha but I love it and in general love the glowy look any time of the year. I think it just perks up the face
Awww thank you!
I agree that a little “gloweyness” is perfect! (and yes you can make that a word – I give you permission!)
am late to the party but considering the Frivole blush…your product photos and now this look! I’m getting swayed haha beautiful, what soft shade!
