Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm
Liquid Lip Balm in Cantaloupe Cream
This liquid lip balm has a small doe-foot applicator.
Swatched: Cantaloupe Cream
On the lips: Cantaloupe Cream
The formula of Cantaloupe Cream is very softening, moisturizing and lightweight on the lips. It is not sticky, and although it feels like it sinks into the lips well, the glossy shine stays on the lips for a long time (more details below). The balm has a light vanilla cookie scent to it, which I find pleasant and not overpowering.
The pigmentation of Cantaloupe Cream is on the sheer side, but it can be built up to an extent on the lips. As you can see from the lip swatch above, it appears more of a pinky-peach on my lips because my natural lip color is showing through. It is pigmented enough to not look clear, however, and does give my lips a very noticeable peach tint.
This product lasts surprisingly well for a moisturizing balm on my lips. At two hours the shine begins to fade, but I can still feel the gloss on my lips after 3 1/2-4 hours until it slowly fades completely. It wears down gradually, and leaves my lips feeling moisturized to the end. It also lasts surprisingly long even while eating and drinking.
The small doe-foot applicator makes this product easy to apply to the lips. The product evenly distributes on my lips, and the applicator makes it easy to get around the edges of the lips.
Overall I am very impressed with not only the staying power of the Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm, but the moisturizing properties as well. This product actually soothed my lips after a long lipstick-swatching session, which says a lot for its moisturizing properties. The icing on the cake is that it is so very glossy, so it can give your lips that polished look while soothing at the same time. Even if you feel this particular shade might be too sheer for your liking, I definitely recommend checking into these.
